Hispanic News Supports Stand
Alone Dream Act
SANTA FE (By
Jon Garrido, The Jon Garrido Network)
September 22, 2010 Senate
Republicans killed the Dream Act
yesterday.
The probability of
Immigration Reform being passed in
2011 and 2012 is zero.
The only way to achieve Immigration
Reform is to elect Democrats to the
United States Senate in 2012 but not
just any Democrat but electing a
Mexican American Democrat to the
United States Senate.
A Cuban American is not a sincere
advocate nor a Puerto Rican American
will work.
Only a Mexican
American can successfully debate the
merits of Immigration Reform.
This will not be enough. A Mexican
American United States Senator needs
the support of a Mexican American
grass roots movement across the
United States to forcefully
challenge all United States
senators, Democrats and Republicans,
to support Immigration Reform.
The first step is to find and
support an Mexican American
individual to mount a campaign to
win election to the United States
Senate and then have Harry Reid
appoint the new Mexican American
senator to the Judiciary Committee
to write Immigration Reform
legislation that will not only
"Secure the Border" but also make
available drivers' licenses to
Undocumented in all states, end the
campaign to take away citizenship
from children born in the USA with
Undocumented parents, a modified
Dream Act giving the same rights as
all Americans to attend any
educational school, a path to
citizenship for all Undocumented in
the USA and to eliminate the
draconian process of entering the
USA by making substantial visa
changes to enter into the United
States.
